Terms of Service
Last updated 17 August 2026
These terms cover your purchase and use of Viewport, a macOS application from The Resonance. Buying Viewport means you accept them.
What you are buying
Viewport is licensed, not sold. Your purchase of $9.99 buys a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use Viewport for personal or commercial work, including client work and work you are paid for.
The licence does not expire. There is no subscription, no renewal, and nothing that stops working if you stop paying - because there is nothing further to pay.
Devices
One licence key activates Viewport on up to two Macs at a time. You can release a Mac from inside the app whenever you change machines, which frees the seat for another one. Reinstalling on a Mac you have already activated does not consume a second seat.
The key is yours and is not for sharing, resale, or distribution. We can revoke a key we find published or in use well beyond two machines.
Updates
Every future Viewport update is included at no extra cost. We do not currently plan to charge for major versions. If that ever changes, your existing licence continues to work on every version released up to that point - it is never switched off retroactively.
Refunds
If Viewport is not what you expected, email support@theresonance.studio within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you in full. You do not have to give a reason.
A refunded licence stops being valid, and the app will say so the next time it checks in.
Requirements
Viewport needs macOS 13.1 or later. It is a native macOS application; there is no Windows or Linux build and none is currently planned. If your Mac does not meet the requirement, the refund policy above covers you.
What you may not do
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to defeat the licensing in the app, except where law expressly permits it.
- Redistribute, resell, rent, or sublicense Viewport itself.
- Use Viewport to record material you have no right to record, or in a way that breaks the terms of the sites you are recording.
The recordings you make are yours. We claim no rights over your output and never see it.
Availability and the licence server
Viewport verifies your licence once, then works offline. It rechecks periodically, and it is built to keep working through an outage rather than lock you out of software you have paid for. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of this website or the activation service, but we do commit that a failure of ours will not cost you access to the app.
Warranty and liability
Viewport is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and our total liability for any claim relating to Viewport is limited to what you paid for it.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you bought as a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by any of the above.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for future purchases. The terms that apply to you are the ones published on the day you bought, and we will not apply a later change retroactively to reduce what your licence covers.
